Tomorrow, my hunting friend and I are taking a second swing at public lands in New York State. Our last foray was educational, but ultimately unsuccessful. This time though, we’re headed upstate this evening to ensure that we’re among the first folks in tomorrow morning.
My friend did some serious scouting and has a few places quite deep in the forest picked out as potential ambush spots. Last time, he spotted a herd of deer, but at 60 yards, they were out of range of his compound bow. Between my rifle and his crossbow, if the same opportunity presents itself, we will eat well.
